Volunteering on the Farm

Deer Hollow Farm is supported by a community of 100+ volunteers. No experience is necessary, training is provided!

Volunteers must be 14 years or older, complete an application and clear a background check.

Currently Available Volunteer roles:

  • School Year Docents: Teach schoolchildren about farm animals and gardening, the wilderness, and Native American habitat and customs.
  • Group Project: Two-hours small group (up to 12 total people) volunteer service projects, such as barn clean up, may be available on a limited basis.

Currently Unavailable Volunteer roles (please check back for updates as roles may become available):

  • Livestock Volunteers: Feed, clean and care for livestock.
  • Weekend Docents: Educate visitors about the farm’s animals and programs.
  • Summer Camp Interns: Interns assist counselors in leading activities for youth 6 – 14 years old at the farm and in the wilderness. Interns must be 14 years old and above. Applications for Summer 2025 will open in March 2025 on the City of Mountain View Teen Volunteer Opportunities page.
