Clove’s three male piglets, farrowed on August 6, are now frolicking around the barnyard between napping and feeding. Come visit them soon.

New Piglets at Deer Hollow Farm!

These pictures show the piglets only a few hours old. The piglets were the product of artificial insemination using a Hampshire sire. Wilbur, the resident boar, did his best to court Clove, but in the end, artificial insemination was used to produce the piglets. AI might be why Clove produced a small litter, or perhaps it was because it was her first.

The piglets are very Hampshire in color: black, white, and pink. You can learn more about all the types of pigs on the farm here.

And here they are a week later:

Cinnamon, Clove’s sister, is keeping a close eye on the piglets from the next pen over!
