Holiday time is a good time to support our community Farm! Our “Be A Friend” campaign offers you the chance to join hundreds of people who support the Farm with donations big and small.
Remember, every donation counts!
Your support is vital to Deer Hollow Farm, an important regional environmental education center, hosting 100,000 visitors annually for free.
Farm visitors come from 14 Bay Area cities to view the animals and walk through the “living history” barnyard. This year, Friends is providing tuition and busing for half the total 5,036 students coming to the 206 Farm classes from 48 Bay Area elementary schools in 14 cities.
It’s easy to “Be A Friend.” There are many ways to donate:
- At the Farm’s “Iron Ranger” kiosk

- Mail your check to Friends of Deer Hollow Farm, P.O. Box 4282, Mountain View, CA 94040.
Here are just a few ways your tax-deductible donation helps:
- $25 sends four children on a field trip for several hours of exciting outdoor education
- $50 buys worms and garden supplies for the teaching garden visited by hundreds of kindergarteners
- $100 feeds Luna the cow for 10 days
- $500 pays for busing for a class
- $1,000 supports total Farm operations for one day
- $2,000 pays for part of the steel fencing and gates for the new pig enclosure
This year, Friends is providing small, Farm-related Donor Appreciation gifts to individual donors. Every donor receives a photo Thank-You card featuring the iconic White Barn and three newsletters annually. Donors through January 2016 will receive a handy calendar featuring Farm events. Donor appreciation gifts also include passes to Farm events and laminated Nature Cards identifying plants and animals in the. Preserve.
The names of donors giving more than $1,000 in the past year are featured on the Deer Hollow Farm Donor Wall.
Other ways to support the Farm include purchasing FODHF Farm-related gifts from the Nature Center, open December 19 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
