The 37th Annual Deer Hollow Farm Volunteer Recognition Event honored the Farm’s 106 volunteers with music, lunch and an awards program. These volunteers gave a record total of 8,340 hours to the Farm this year as docents, animal caretakers, gardeners, orchardists, maintenance workers, and Summer Camp guides. That is more than four fulltime staff.

Congratulating the volunteers were Mountain View’s Vice Mayor Ken Rosenberg, Farm and Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District staff, and Friends of Deer Hollow Farm’s President Sue Gale. “We couldn’t run this Farm without you,” was the message the speakers delivered.

The volunteers and their families were treated to lunch and music by The Gallowglasses, a local Celtic folk band.

Volunteers received award certificates from Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian’s office and flashlights from the City of Mountain View.
